Start-up filter production and dissemination North Bengal

The project was aimed at getting an overview of the filter activities and the current technical state of affairs of the partner organisation CDHI in Jalpaiguri, India. Basic topics that have been covered include technical performance of the ceramic silver (CS) filters that have been produced so far, evaluation of the production process of the potter that produces the filters, evaluation of the market potential for filters in the region and evaluation of available laboratories that are needed for testing the filters on bacteriological performance.

  • gain insight in the technical characteristics and the consistency of technical characteristics of the locally produced CS filters;
  • gain insight in the potential market for CS filters in North Bengal;
  • gain insight in the potential role of CDHI as key player in the intensification of production and promotion of CS water filters.
