Feasibility study rope pumps Pader district, Uganda
In the Pader district in Northern Uganda, internally displaced persons (IDP’s) have started moving back from the satellite camps to their original villages and homesteads. They need a borehole with hand pump at walking distance from their home. Because of the high installation costs and relatively complicated maintenance of piston pumps (India MARK II), ZOA Uganda and PRACTICA evaluate the possibilities to supply more beneficiaries with safe drinking water by using low cost alternatives (rope pumps).
